Safety Tips
Your safety is our top priority. Read these guidelines for safe creative collaborations.
While artmodels.ca verifies all members, it's important to take precautions when meeting new people for creative work. We recommend following these safety practices for every collaboration.
Before the Session
- Vet your collaborator: Check their profile, website, and social media. Look for reviews or references on our platform.
- Communicate clearly: Discuss all details (rates, poses, location, duration) in writing before meeting.
- Request references: Don't hesitate to ask for references from previous models or artists they've worked with.
- Check the location: Verify the studio address on Google Maps. If it's a home studio, ask if others will be present.
- Video call first: A quick video chat can help verify identity and comfort levels.
During the Session
- Tell a friend: Always let someone know where you are going, who you are meeting, and when you expect to finish.
- Bring a chaperone: For a first meeting, bringing a friend or chaperone is a standard industry practice.
- Protect your belongings: Keep your phone charged and valuables in sight.
- Set boundaries: You have the right to stop a session at any time if you feel uncomfortable.
- No touching: Artists should never touch a model without explicit permission (e.g., to adjust a pose).
Trust Your Judgment
You know how to read people. If something feels off about a collaboration—inconsistent stories, evasiveness about their work, pressure tactics, or unprofessional conduct—trust that instinct. A legitimate collaborator will respect your boundaries and won't rush you into situations you're not comfortable with.
Reporting Issues
If you encounter harassment, inappropriate behavior, or safety concerns, use the reporting system built into the platform. You'll find a "Report" button on profiles, messages, and opportunities.
How reporting works
Your privacy matters to us. All messages on artmodels.ca are encrypted—we can't read your conversations. However, when you submit a report, a portion of the relevant conversation is decrypted and included with your report so our moderators can review the context and take appropriate action.
What happens next
Reports are reviewed by our moderation team. Depending on the severity, we may issue warnings, suspend accounts, or permanently remove users from the platform. We keep your report confidential and won't share your identity with the reported user.
